Mr. SOK Chenda Sophea, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation attended the opening session of the General Debate of the 79th Session of the General Assembly at the United Nations

PHNOM PENH: As the High Representative of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Mr. SOK Chenda Sophea, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation , attended the Opening Session of the General Debate of the 79th Session of the General Assembly on 24 September 2024, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

The General Debate was chaired by Mr. Philemon Yang, President of the General Assembly, and attended by Mr. António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, as well as Heads of State, Heads of Government, and representatives of the UN member state. The Meeting discussedthe indispensable role of the United Nations in addressing global challenges and underscored that only with reinvigoration ofmultilateralism will it be possible to achieve a peaceful, prosperous, sustainable, and inclusive future for all.
